2012 Ford Explorer; Security, Technology and Safety at Its Best

The 2012 Ford Explorer is a great vehicle to test drive under any conditions. However, one really can appreciate this vehicles superior quality when test driving the Explorer in adverse conditions. The day I test-drove the 2012 Ford Explorer, there were tornado warning, torrential rains and flooding in the streets. The weather conditions were so bad that I would not have been surprised if the supplier had said, ?we don?t feel comfortable loaning out a vehicle under these weather conditions.? Needless to say they did loan the Explorer and I was able to experience how this large crossover SUV handles with nimble, carlike driving dynamics.

The 2012 Ford Explorer?s rounded corners and smooth angles, gives this SUV a softer look, but do not be deceived. The 3.5-liter, V-6 cranks out 290 horsepower, which is more than enough power to enter and maneuver through hazardous driving conditions. The six-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive, makes this the optimal SUV to drive during stormy weather.? The Explorer also come with an all wheel drive package and new this year is an optional 2.0-liter ?EcoBoost? turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which provides fuel economy that even hybrid SUV?s can?t beat.

The interior of the 2012, Ford Explorer is simply exquisite. The limited edition offers leather trimmed, heated, memory seats that wraps your body securely, like an infant in a blanket. When you enter the cabin of the Explorer it?s obvious that it possesses superior technological advancements. The MyFord Touch system is as advance as the technology found on any vehicle in Ford?s luxury division Lincoln. The dashboard can be optionally equipped with touch sensitive controls and the LCD gauges makes monitoring the Explorer?s engine performance a breeze.

Driving the 2012 Ford Explorer is a pleasure and you immediately realize that you are 100% in control. The driving stability of this SUV feels very tight at freeway speeds, and it takes corners with gazelle-like agility. While driving in inclement weather, the front-wheel drive gives you the assurance that you can quickly navigate the 2012 Explorer to avoid an accident, if necessary.

Even though I don?t look forward to driving in storms, it was the ultimate test for the 2012 Ford Explorer. The Explorer passed with flying colors. Go test drive one yourself, if you are in the market for a large crossover SUV. You will not be disappointed.? -Al Weems
